Dropping Google AnalyticsEver since I discovered Google Analytics I've been completely hypnotized by it. It's so cool, you can track all sorts of things with it and there is also its problem...

...because you actually end up tracking all sorts of things with it! You end up spending a significant amount of time "tracking" which obviously eats from the time you are supposed to be "creating stuff". And the same is true with our Social Media efforts like DZone for instance. DZone is GREAT if you want to "kill time". But it's not cool killing time there when you've got "things to do". And I've got "things to do", *ALWAYS*!

I've had it! And Kariem is 100% agreeing with me on this! I'd rather want to spend time developing and creating then time figuring out if people like what I do. And if people don't like what me and Kariem is doing, then that's *their* problem. Not ours...

So starting from today we will STOP using Google Analytics, we will STOP submitting our technical articles to DZone and we will STOP trying to "spread the word" about Ra-Ajax through other Social Media Websites. We know for a fact that Ra-Ajax is the best Ajax library for ASP.NET and that you should use it, but by constantly spending a lot of energy trying to convince others about that fact we are first of all spending a lot of energy in the wrong places, but also probably "damaging our cause" - since people tend not to believe us no matter what we say in regards to "our own stuff"...

Starting from today we will spend more time on creating great software and writing informative blogs and such and less time on trying to convince others about that we're right and "analyzing logs" to see if others think that we're right...

We're going to become "opinionated", and let go...

As a positive side-effect this means our samples with the upcoming release today will actually loose more then half of its JavaScript and thereby obviously feel a lot faster. In addition to that we'll spend more time developing and less time "analyzing" - which obviously will benefit our products. I think this actually is putting our money where our mouths are in regards to my previous Freedom blog...

We're taking a left turn here! Others are free to follow us if they wish! But we will *not* follow others...!

We're un-installing fear! One brick of bloat-ware at the time... ;)
